Originally released in 2009, The Ecstatic is one of Mos Def's most celebrated and adventurous albums, bringing together an eclectic cast of producers including Madlib, J Dilla, Oh No, Mr. Flash, Chad Hugo and Georgia Anne Muldrow. The album moves effortlessly between soulful grooves, experimental sampling, jazz influences and globally inspired textures, while Mos Def delivers some of his sharpest and most introspective lyricism.
More than fifteen years after its original release, The Ecstatic returns in a limited 2026 vinyl edition. Pressed on Ruby Red Translucent vinyl, the 2LP set features the complete sixteen-track album, including Supermagic, Auditorium featuring Slick Rick, History featuring Talib Kweli and Casa Bey.
