Released in 2017, Flower Boy marked a transformative moment in Tyler, The Creator's career, moving away from the deliberately abrasive persona of his early work towards a more vulnerable, melodic and introspective sound. Blending alternative hip hop with jazz, soul, R&B and psychedelic influences, the album explores loneliness, identity, love and the desire for genuine connection through lush production and deeply personal songwriting.
Featuring standout tracks including See You Again, Who Dat Boy, 911 / Mr. Lonely and Boredom, the album features collaborations with Frank Ocean, A$AP Rocky, Kali Uchis, Rex Orange County, Lil Wayne and Jaden Smith. Widely regarded as a turning point in Tyler's artistic evolution, Flower Boy established the sophisticated, genre-blurring style that would define much of his work that followed.
