Released in 2025, Once I Was Wild is the seventh studio album from Melbourne’s The Smith Street Band. Recorded at the band’s own solar-powered Bush House Studios in regional Victoria, the album continues their distinctive blend of raucous punk energy, melodic songwriting and raw emotional storytelling. For the first time, the band worked in-studio with longtime live sound engineer Joel Taylor, with Anton Hagop handling the mix and George Georgiadis mastering the record.
This Indie Exclusive Orange edition is pressed on limited-coloured vinyl and features the album’s ten-track sequence, including the singles This Is It and Star Child. Released on 21 November 2025 through Pool House Records and Remote Control Records, Once I Was Wild sees The Smith Street Band continuing to evolve while maintaining the independent spirit that has defined the band since their formation in 2010.
