Originally released in 1996, On Avery Island is the debut studio album from Neutral Milk Hotel and a defining release from the influential Elephant 6 collective. Led by Jeff Mangum, the album combines raw lo-fi recording, ragged pop melodies, surreal lyricism and experimental arrangements, creating a strange and deeply personal sound that would become hugely influential across alternative and indie music.
This limited deluxe edition is pressed across red and yellow coloured vinyl and cut at both 45 and 33 RPM, with revised artwork, a gatefold sleeve and a 24-page poster booklet. Released by Fire Records in 2023, the expanded 2LP edition features the original twelve-track album alongside the Everything Is single and Snow Song Pt. 1 as part of the deluxe packaging.
