Released in 2025, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You is the second studio album from Florida-born singer-songwriter and multimedia artist Ethel Cain, serving as a prequel to her acclaimed debut Preacher’s Daughter. Set in 1986, the album tells the story of Ethel’s first love, Willoughby Tucker, exploring young romance, longing, devotion and heartbreak through Cain’s distinctive Southern Gothic lens. Built largely in home studios, the record combines ambient folk, slowcore, Americana and atmospheric rock into an expansive and deeply cinematic world.
This Indie Exclusive edition is pressed as a 2LP black vinyl set and includes a limited-edition insert. Released on 8 August 2025 through Daughters of Cain Records, the ten-track sequence includes Janie, Nettles, Dust Bowl, Tempest and the epic Waco, Texas. With its hazy production, sparse instrumentation and slow-burning arrangements, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You further develops Cain’s atmospheric storytelling and Southern Gothic aesthetic.
