Originally released in 1983, Head Over Heels is the second studio album from Scottish trio Cocteau Twins and a landmark of early ethereal wave. Following the departure of bassist Will Heggie, Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie developed an increasingly distinctive sound built around Guthrie's shimmering, effects-heavy guitars and Fraser's otherworldly, largely abstract vocals. The album marked a major step forward from the darker post-punk atmosphere of their debut, Garlands.
Featuring standout tracks including Sugar Hiccup, In Our Angelhood, The Tinderbox (Of A Heart) and Musette And Drums, Head Over Heels established the atmospheric sound that would become central to the Cocteau Twins' legacy. This 180g remastered LP edition was released in 2018 by 4AD, with the audio sourced from high-definition transfers of the original analogue tapes.
