Released in 1984, Purple Rain is Prince's landmark sixth studio album and the soundtrack to the film of the same name. Widely regarded as his magnum opus, the album brings together funk, rock, pop and R&B with Prince's extraordinary songwriting, musicianship and theatrical vision. It also marked the first Prince album to feature billing with his backing band, The Revolution.
Featuring iconic tracks including Let's Go Crazy, When Doves Cry, I Would Die 4 U, Baby I'm A Star and the monumental title track, Purple Rain became one of the defining albums of the 1980s. This LP is the 2015 Paisley Park remaster of the original album.
